MARDAN - A political worker sustained injuries in an armed clash between activists of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Awami National Party (ANP) here on Friday late evening, local police said.
According to the Hoti police station, Zeeshan, son of Shahjehan, who is an activist of ANP told police that he was present at Babukhel Khan Koti when the accused Mohammad Riaz, Javed, Zulfiqar, Zawar, Babar Riaz, Tamur, Osama, Zawar, Ameer, resident of Babukhel Khan Koti reached the spot and allegedly opened fire.
While on the other hand Zawar, resident of Babukhel Khan Koti who is an activist of PTI told police that he was present at Babukhel Khan Koti when the accused Qadar Khan, Anwar Khan, Amjid Khan, Umar Khan, Ismail, Iftikhar allegedly started firing. He told police that he remained safe.
Police registered case against the mentioned accused under section 324, 148 and 149. Sources added that police later on reached the spot and arrested seven activists of ANP and 3 activists of PTI.
It is pertinent to mention that on 3rd June four political workers including a Tehsil councillor were killed and 12 others sustained injuries in an armed clash between activists of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Awami National Party (ANP) in the same area on the issue of displaying posters and hoisting party flags.
Police registered case from both side under section 324, 148 and 149 and started investigations.
