Rs 1690.629m allocated for CDA

ISLAMABAD - The federal government has allocated Rs 1690.629 million for the Capital Development Authority (CDA) in the annual budget for the fiscal year 2012-2013 under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).
For the fiscal year 2012-13, the allocation under PSDP for 12 ongoing projects of CDA is Rs 392.051 million less than the outgoing financial year 2011-2012 where it was Rs 2082.680 million. The CDA is already in progress to finalise authority’s own budget for the fiscal year 2012-13 that is likely to be announced by the end of ongoing month.
A big chunk of Rs 512.581 million has been allocated under the PSDP for the construction of 106 family suites for the parliamentarians, an extension of the existing Parliament Lodges building in Sector G-5.
Another Rs 500 million has been allocated for the construction of Charah Dam, a joint venture of the Punjab and federal government for creating another drinking water reservoir to cater the needs of water for the residents of the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
Similarly, Rs 452.248 million would be spent for the construction of additional 3rd & 4th lanes to existing Kashmir Highway from Peshawar Mor for to Golra Mor.  Another Rs93.023 million out of the PSDP allocations will be spent for the construction of 2nd Hanger (Pre-Engineering Steel Structure) at Heliport Islamabad. While Rs 63.358 million has been allocated for the security arrangement at Parliament House building.
Rs 13.206 million are set aside for rehabilitation/replacement of 32 Nos lifts at Pak Secretariat Building, Rs5.505 million for the installation of professional CCTV system in the Senate Hall at Parliament House building, Rs1.157 million for A/C facilities, provision of fire alarm system and Parliament Lodges CCTV system has also been allocated. Another Rs 20.102 million would be spent for the construction of residential and non-residential accommodation for police at Aiwan-e-Sadr. Rs 11.650 million for the construction of official residence of Speaker National Assembly in Sector F-5/2 while Rs 1.720 million for the construction of 16 No Category-IV flats for AGPR in Sector G-9/2 has also been allocated under PSDP. Rs 16.079 has also been allocated for up-gradation/renovation of public address, simultaneous interpretation and automatic vote costing system installed in the Senate Hall at Parliament House Building.
