Islamabad - The Drug Licensing Board suspended two drugs manufacturing licences and permitted the prosecution in cases against M/s A-One Poultry Services and Maradan for their involvement in the manufacturing and sale of spurious veterinary drugs.
The 237th Drug Licensing Board’s meeting of Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) was held on Wednesday in the committee room of Ministry of National Health Regulation and Coordination under the Chairmanship of AQ Javed Iqbal, Director (Drug Licensing / Quality Assurance & Laboratory Testing). Various experts from the pharmaceutical sector, academia, and quality control & production of drugs attended the meeting. Chief Drug Inspector Sindh Qaiser Mehmood, Chief Drug Inspector Balochistan Atta-ur-Rehman and chief drug inspector KP also attended the meeting.
. Representatives from Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association, Pharma Bureau and Pakistan Chemist & Druggist Association were also present in the meeting as observers.
The board discussed various cases pertaining to licensing, quality control and quality assurance of drugs. The board urged the availability of quality medicines through the compliance of good manufacturing practices. The stakeholders were also taken on board. Resumption of production of a firm was allowed after the compliance of good manufacturing practices.Representatives from Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association, Pharma Bureau and Pakistan Chemist & Druggist Association were also present in the meeting as observers.
