Armed men resort to aerial firing in Wah school

wah cantt - Local police foiled a bid of armed people to occupy a private school building located in Lalazar area yesterday.

On receiving information about presence of armed men in the school, a police contingent led by Station House Officer, Inspector Zaheer Ud Din Babar, rushed to the spot.

However, the armed men managed to flee the scene successfully. Police registered a case against the accused under different sections and started investigation.

Inam Fatima, who runs the private school on Liaquat Road in Lalazar area, told police that over a dozen armed people riding on three vehicles stormed into the school and resorted to aerial firing. They closed the main gate from inside, thrashed school staff and damaged the furniture in a bid to occupy the building. She said area residents informed police after listening to hue and cry of students and female staff.

When contacted, Inspector Zaheer told The Nation that a case has been registered against the accused for harassing school staff as well as students, besides attempting to occupy the school building at gunpoint.
