ISLAMABAD - The first ever lady Speaker of Balochistan Assembly Rahila Hameed Durrani praised Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for taking keen interest in restoration of peace in the restive province and putting it on road by initiating unprecedented development projects.
The Speaker Balochistan Assembly called on the Prime Minister here on Tuesday and discussed with him matters relating to the province and also briefed him on her experience as the first-ever lady speaker of the province.
Prime Minister Nawaz said that it is highly encouraging that a female has been elected as Speaker of Balochistan Provincial Assembly for the first time.
The Prime Minister said that Balochistan is close to his heart and peace & prosperity of the province has been top priority of the present government.
Peace in the province has been restored due to commendable efforts of the civil and military law enforcement agencies during the last three years, the Prime Minister added.
The Prime Minister reiterated that the development of Balochistan will remain on top priority agenda of the government in years ahead.
Rahila Durrani thanked the Prime Minister for his keen interest in restoration of peace in Balochistan and putting the Province on the development path after significant years.
She briefed the Prime Minister on the parliamentary and legislative proceedings in the Provincial Assembly.
