Islamabad - The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has kicked off maintenance work on roads that are affected or damaged due to the construction of Islamabad section of metro bus service project.
According to details, the first phase of repair and maintenance work on roads has been started in Sector G-8 and G-9. Under the plan, different squares would be repaired that were closed due to the bus project. Similarly repair work is under way at Jinnah Avenue to restore it for the traffic.
The authorities concerned are also working to further improve the alternative routes that were constructed to facilitate the commuters being suffered by the metro project. The alternate routes were constructed to make the flow of the traffic smooth while the current project is designed to further improve those roads. One such route is in H-8 which is adjacent to Kashmir Highway.
The Chairman CDA Maroof Afzal has also directed concerned authorities to start work on more alternative routes.
