Begging at traffic signals on the rise





RAWALPINDI  – The number of beggars, especially children and women, are increasing in the city.
Beggars on every traffic signal is a common sight where one can see lot of children and women thronging at vehicles asking for alms. Beggars use novel techniques to attract people as their sole purpose is to take money from them.
The increasing trend of beggary at traffic signals is  due to lack of attention from the concerned authorities.
People opined that use of children in such activities should be banned strictly. People urging the civic administration, demanded that the concerned authorities should take strict action against the responsible persons. They said if action to tackle the menace is not taken seriously, it would attain alarming proportions over a period of time.
