ISLAMABAD  - The Senate Standing Committee on Capital Administration and Development Friday recommended that the Capital Development Authority (CDA) be placed under the purview of the CAD ministry.
Currently, the CDA functions under the purview of Cabinet Division and prior to that it had been working under the interior ministry. The committee met here under the chair of Jamshaid Dasti and also suggested the same for Islamabad Sports Board and other such departments just to make them answerable to Standing Committee on CAD.
The committee took serious notice of absence of Chairman CDA as the body could not discuss the projects undertaken by the CDA. On the report of a senior journalist, the committee asked Secretary CAD to submit a comprehensive report on the curriculum taught in the private schools and objectionable activities in name of debating.
Earlier, the committee was given a detailed briefing on the agenda by the Ministry of CAD. The meeting was attended by Minister CAD Nazar Mohammed Gondal, Mehreen Razzaq Bhutto, Asghar Ali Jatt, Bushra Rehman, Sabeen Rizvi, Mahboobullah Jan, Hamid Saeed Kazmi, Tariq Rasheed, Seema Jameeli, Arraish Kumar and Israr Tareen.
