Rawalpindi - Non-disbursement of salary among 190 female sanitary patrols since the last five months has triggered concern among them.
These ladies sanitary patrols are performing duties in anti-epidemics including dengue and measles campaign
Sources said that health department Rawalpindi obtained sanction for recruitment of 200 female sanitary patrols for conducting door-to-door surveillance in connection with anti-epidemics drive. 10 among them quit the job and 190 are performing duty in different union councils of Rawalpindi.
They have been enrolled on contract basis for 3 years. They are facing miserable situation in terms of payment of their salaries, as they stand deprived of any such payment since the last five months.
They have demanded for immediate release of their 5 months as it has become hard for them even to hide their faces from the owners of the houses they are living in on rent basis and non payment of rent from their side since the long period has forced the owners to get vacate their homes from them.
