Social Security doctors demand regularisation

RAWALPINDI - The Social Security Doctors Association (SSDA), Rawalpindi region, President Dr Mohammad Saeed and General Secretary Dr Shoaib Mansoor Malik while strongly protesting against the discriminatory act on the part of the Punjab govt for not regularising the social security doctors, demanded revival of the previous healthcare policy as well immediate regularisation of contract doctors. While talking to this scribe on Thursday, Dr Mohammad Saeed and Dr Shoaib Mansoor Malik told that contract policy implemented by the previous regime had proved to be anti-state act, which created harassment and a sense of insecurity among the social security doctors who should have the same rights and privileges as enjoyed by the doctors in the Health Department in Punjab. They regretted that despite of regularisation of contract doctors in the Health Department, doctors working under social security on contract basis have not been regularised yet. The SSDA President and General Secretary lamented that the bureaucratic hurdles in the regularisation of social security doctors is bringing bad name to the Chief Minister of Punjab Mian Shehbaz Sharif, who is well-known for his people-friendly policies. This is a discriminatory act, which has created sense of deprivation, anxiety, and agony amongst the contract social security doctors, they maintained. Besides immediate regularisation of the contract social security doctors, President of the Association Dr Mohammed Saeed and General Secretary Dr Shoaib Mansoor Malik have also demanded revival of the previous health policy for the employees, which is in accordance with medical attendance rules, regular meetings of DPC and decentralisation of certain powers to relieve undue burden at Head Office.
