Gas discovered in Ghotki

ISLAMABAD - Oil and Gas Development Authority has discovered gas from a well in Ghotki, Sindh.
According to a press release issued here on Friday, the well was drilled to the depth of 770 meters to test the hydrocarbon potential of Pirkoh limestone, whereby reserves of hydrocarbon have been found at Maru East Well number 1. The zone has tested 2.1 million cubic feet of gas per day and flow rates are expected to enhance after acid stimulation treatment.
This project is a joint venture of OGDCL, with 70 per cent stakes, IPR Transoil Corporation, 11.5 per cent, Spud Energy Ptv Ltd, 13.5 per cent, and Government Holding Private Limited with five per cent shares.
