CDA fails to launch new residential project

Islamabad -  Despite planning and announcement of several residential projects in the capital city, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has failed to launch any new project in the past seven years.
The last project, which was successfully completed by the CDA, was during the era of President Pervez Musharraf in which G-14 was developed. During the President Zardari PPP government, around 600 plots on limited basis at Park enclave project was initiated which is still under construction.
At present, no new residential projects has been launched for the Federal capital citizens by PML (N) government.
According to sources, in the PPP era 10 new project announcements were made by the government, which comprised of Sector D-13, E-13, F-13, C-13, C-14, C-15, C-16, H-16, I-17 and D-14.
The appointed chairmen of CDA for the past seven years have been commanding the national institution with ad-hoc pattern, due to which no new mega project or residential sector was instigated.
On the other hand, CDA modern policy is to sell precious plots in order to compensate for the daily payments.
