NAB sacks senior officer involved in housing scam

ISLAMABAD - Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Qamar Zaman Chaudhary has taken stern action against NAB senior officers who were involved in notorious Patoki Housing Society Scam and terminated the services of Deputy Director Ray Nasir in this regard, The Nation has learnt.
Well placed sources in NAB informed that Chairman NAB also stopped the promotion of Shakeel Anjum Nagra, Additional Director NAB for five years and demoted Zia Ullah Khan as Deputy Director from Additional Director because of this case.
The accused, including three brothers Muhammad Ameen, Mohammad Jamil and Muhammad Hameed, and their manager Faiz Ahmed, committed Rs80 million fraud in the sale of plots. They received the money from the people but did not hand them over the plots.
Sources said that Chairman directed all high-ups of all NAB bureaus to take strict action against those officials of NAB who involved in corruption. NAB has launched investigation into educational qualification of its thirteen junior and senior officers who were appointed in previous government and if they will fail to prove their degrees as original then they would face the music. NAB had also fired its senior officers from Sindh who did not submit his original education certificate last year.
When The Nation contacted the Spokesman of NAB Asim Ali Nawazish for his official version about  action against NAB officials, he told that he was not aware of the development but Chairman NAB has said several times that he would show zero tolerance against the corrupt officers.
