Wah Cantt - Criminals rule the roost in twin cities of Taxila and Wah as armed robbers shot and injured three persons in two different incidents.
Virtually, the historic city has become a safe haven for the gangsters and robbers, who are striking brazenly and with impunity in every nook and corner of the town. Armed robberies have become order of the day which is evident from the fact that dacoits strike daily in various parts of the city in which they deprive the masses of cash and other valuables worth millions of rupees while police seems in deep slumber.
The social and public circles of the area are concerned over the prevailing insecurity due to house robberies and other criminal incidents.
According to details, in the first incident occurred within the limits of Taxila Police station, armed robbers shot and injured Mohammad Asif on Samoon Road. The armed robbers shot him at his legs and snatched a sum of Rs 50,000 and fled away. The victim is struggling for life in a private hospital of Rawalpindi. In the second incident, armed robbers shot and injured Zeeshan Shahzad and Mohammad Zubair when they resisted a robbery bid in Wah Cantonment area.
The armed robbers left them in pool of blood after snatching cash and valuables from them.
Different civic bodies and trade unions have expressed their concern over the sorry state of affairs and called upon the RPO and CPO Rawalpindi to take stock of the issue.
