Petition filed in SC against Abid Sher Ali

A petition has been moved in the Supreme Court for non-eligibility of the Chairman of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Education, Abid Sher Ali, here on Friday. The petitioner, Maulvi Iqbal Haider, has challenged the eligibility of Abid Sher Ali. The petition said judges could not be summoned under any clause of the constitution and Abid Sher Ali violated the constitution by saying that Chief Justice of Pakistan could be summoned in the meeting of the standing committee. The National Assembly should cancel his membership and declare him ineligible, it said.
