Mamnoon for consensus among institutions on issues

Islamabad - President Mamnoon Hussain has called for consensus among the state institutions to address the national issues.
Addressing at the Certificate Award Ceremony of 17th National Security Workshop here at the National Defence University yesterday, the President said a broad-based national security policy was need of the hour.
He said representatives of all state institutions should work out a combined national strategy to effectively address the issues related to national security.
The President said National Security Workshop was important in gathering parliamentarians, bureaucrats, military personnel and members of civil society at a platform to deliberate upon the issues of national importance. He said in today’s inter-connected and inter-dependent world, the need to understand international matters and related policies had increased manifold.
The President said the holding of such interactive workshops was significant to deliberate upon the issues of national and international importance. He hoped that National Security Workshop would enhance the capacity of experts on national affairs in areas of policy-making and administration.
The President lauded the contributions of NDU in national development and also for hosting the quality workshop on security. He congratulated the participants of the workshop and expressed confidence that the knowledge and understanding which they had acquired at NDU would be of use in their future assignments.
President NDU Lt Gen Anwar Ali Hyder in his welcome address said NDU stands out as prestigious institution and a leading think-tank of the country that provides a platform both for military and civilian experts to share views on national issues.
Earlier, President Mamnoon Hussain gave away certificates to the participants of the National Security Workshop.
