Islamabad - As part of ongoing anti-encroachment drive in the capital, Capital Development Authority (CDA) yesterday removed barriers erected around the premises of a local five-star hotel.
The action comes in line with the Supreme Court directions to clean the city of encroachments and unnecessary hurdles.
The operation went smooth and according to the CDA plan as the private hotel management did not offer any resistance. Heavy machinery was used to remove the containers and barriers to retrieve the state land. The operation was led by director enforcement CDA and supervised by deputy director and inspectors of CDA.
CDA had issued many notices to the hotel management to voluntarily remove the barriers erected on the green belt adjacent to the hotel but to no avail.
The hotel management was of the view that barriers were part of the security measures taken for the security of VVIPs and other guests staying at the hotel from time to time but CDA did not agree to their point of view.
