Gilani for alternate sources to meet energy demand

Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday stressed the need for generating energy through alternate sources to meet the countrys needs. Talking to a delegation of Norwegian Energy Building Technology and China Energine, a joint venture of Norwegian and Chinese companies at the PM House, the Prime Minister said Pakistan has a lot of potential for alternate sources of producing electricity which are beneficial in terms of low production cost besides being environment friendly. Gilani said the mega projects initiated by the government would take longer time for completion, while alternate energy projects take less time for completion which would greatly supplement the governments efforts to reduce electricitys demand and supply gap. The Prime Minister assured that the government would extend every possible facility to encourage investors in the field of energy and it is for the same reason that investors had been extended attractive incentives in this sector.
