RAWALPINDI - Illegal shoe factories operating in Bangash Colony, Khadda Market and Khayaban-e-Sir Syed are causing respiratory diseases due to lack of check system.
These factories are functioning in the thickly populated areas illegally and shoes are being manufactured therein.
Tanning and dyeing process of leather causes emission of toxic smoke. “The curls of smoke which emit during the process of using chemicals engulfs the entire area. We cannot easily breath,” said a group of residents.
The residents have demanded immediate shifting of these factories from their areas to avert any mishap.
