Corps Commanders’ moot: new COAS briefed on internal, external security situation of country

The 167th Corps Commanders’ Conference was held at General Headquarters on Friday.
According to ISPR, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif chaired the meeting in new status, of the Corps Commanders in GHQ.
The conference was part of routine monthly meetings.
The forum dwelt at length on various professional matters.
The participants also under took a comprehensive review of prevalent internal and external security situation of the country.
Earlier, Gen. Raheel attended last Corps Commanders’ meeting as next army chief-elect under previous COAS General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani.
All corps commanders, Formation Commanders, and Principal Staff Officers were instructed to attend the key army meeting under chair of the new chief.
The meeting briefed the new COAS about professional issues, security situation especially at Pak-Afghan border, and challenges, both internal and external, being faced by the country.
