4 NAB DGs still working despite SC order

ISLAMABAD - The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), while flouting the orders of Supreme Court, has so far failed to take action against four Director Generals (DGs) who were appointed in grade 21 illegally by the former caretaker government last year.
Sources informed The Nation that the four DGs include Brig(Retd) Farooq Nasir Awan appointed as DG Administration, Altaf Bopani, DG Trainings, Zahir Shah, DG Operations and Husnain Ahmad, DG NAB Punjab. Three DGs out of four were already employees of the NAB. Farooq Awan joined the NLC after retirement from army but the NLC terminated his services and he joined the NAB as DG administration. Zahir Shah was employee of NAB and promoted to grade 20 one month ago within the NAB. He resigned from the post and rejoined NAB as director. Husnain Ahmed was also employee of NAB but he has been serving as member FBR on deputation before joining the NAB in grade 21 post as director as DG NAB Punjab.
Sources mentioned that The NAB created special four DG posts in grade 21 during interim government for hiring the government blue eyed boys. More than 178 persons applied against these posts, including Ph.D degree holders but government ignored the competent candidates and hired these persons.
The apex court had passed an order and instructed the incumbent government to cancel the transfers and postings and appointments which made by caretaker government
Altaf Bopani perused the Supreme Court against this decision but court did not review the decision and ordered the NAB to remove theses four DGs but the Bureau failed to take any action against them. All four illegal DGs are still occupying four important offices.
Incumbent government appointed senior bureaucrat Qamar Zaman Chaudhary as chairman NAB but he also laid his hands down before the illegal appointments of DGs and he also could not follow the court orders and did not launched any inquiry on these appointments.
