ISLAMABAD - Renowned painter/calligraphist Aslam Kamal presented a gift of paintings to National Art Gallery (NAG) here on Thursday.Mashood Mirza, DG Pakistan National Council of the Arts, while receiving the gift from Kamal, said, "Pakistan inherits rich cultural heritage and best brain of the world. Our poets, intellectuals, artists and artisans are our pride and asset."He acknowledged the services and contribution of the great painter and said that Kamal has rendered valuable services for the promotion of art specially calligraphy and has reflected the vision and philosophy of Pakistani great poets Allama Iqbal and Faiz Ahmed Faiz.Kamal has represented Pakistan on international level and has earned name for the country through his art. His gift of paintings is valuable addition to the NAG collection.Earlier, the legendary painter expressed his thoughts about Iqbal & Faiz and highlighted the history of calligraphy and emergence of different Khat at different periods including Khat-e-Kal.
