Petition against restoration of judges dismissed

Islamabad High Court (IHC) has dismissed a petition challenging the March 16 restoration of superior court judges including the Supreme Court Chief Justice, Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry by a government notification on the orders of the prime minister. The court in remarks said that such petition could take the country towards anarchy. IHC Chief Justice, M. Bilal Khan after initial hearing of the petition dismissed it for being not worth hearing. Earlier, the petitioner lawyer arguing said that the restoration of judges by notification was unconstitutional to which IHC CJ in his remarks said that how could High Court take up the matter of the restoration of judges of Supreme Court. He said that the issue of restoration of judges was resolved in two years and now a petition against it could take us to anarchy.
