Naanbais refuse to sell roti at fixed price

RAWALPINDI (APP) - The bread bakers (Naanbais) are  selling the roti for Rs. 5 per piece, despite strict warning of District  Administration to the bakers for reducing its rates. The residents of Sadiqbad Rawalpindi and its adjoining areas told this Agency that the bakers are not only selling the Roti for Rs.5 but also reduced the required weight of the bread. When asked of reducing weight with higher price of Roti, a baker said that "We are getting the flour on the higher prices so we have increased the rates". People in various areas have complained that Bread backers and the fruit and vegetable vendors are not selling the commodities to the general public according to the list being provided to them by the Secretary market committee  on daily basis. The residents complained that the vendors and bakers are involved in profiteering and  urged the government to strengthen the price control system in the area and ensure the strict compliance of the rates being provided to  them by the Market Committee  for checking the prices.
