PNCA starts Defence Day activities today

ISLAMABAD (APP) - Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) will start two-day activities to mark the 'Defence Day of Pakistan here on September 6. The day would be started with a dialogue entitled 'Jan Nisaron ko Salam in which the family members of martyrs of 1965 war will express their views and speakers will pay tributes to the services of Pak army and brave martyred people in Pakistan who left remarkable examples of bravery and sacrifices for nation. Renowned vocalists will pay homage to national heroes through popular national songs whereas students from various educational institutions of the twin cities, will contribute paintings and sketches carrying portraits of national heroes. These paintings and drawings would be displayed at PNCA lobby for general public. Documentaries featuring the sacrifices of the stalwarts of Pakistan Army who sacrificed their lives for the defence of the country, would be screened on the occasion. The documentaries would create awareness among people and remind all cross sections of society about the value of freedom and sacrifices made by our forefathers, an official of PNCA told APP. On September 7, a youth and children show would be held featuring national songs, war songs, tableaus and other items to pay homage to the national heroes at PNCA hall. The 6th of September is a golden chapter in the history of Pakistan, when Pakistan, its military and people stood united in 1965 in defense of Pakistan. It is celebrated in the memory of martyred people who gave sacrifices of their life for the defense of the country. Pakistan celebrates this day for telling the natives of Pakistan about the bravery of people at the critical time and was proud of offering sacrifices of their lives for the defense of Pakistan.
