CDA to award contract through open auction

ISLAMABAD - The Capital Development Authority (CDA), cancelling earlier permit, has decided to award the contract of shuttle service of the Diplomatic Enclave through open auction.
According to CDA officials, the civic authority board directed to audit the record of the shuttle service and submit a report of the income of the contractor and the audit to the board as soon as possible.
The decision was taken in a meeting of the CDA board presided over by Chairman Syed Tahir Shahbaz. The board also appointed Director Environment Dr Kazim Niaz as inquiry officer of the investigations into the scandal of alleged corruption in installation of water pumps and motors in tube-wells in the federal capital provided by USAID. Three vendors installed the pumps and motors and embezzled millions of rupees in connivance with some CDA officials. The meeting also directed to complete computerization of law wing and estate management wing of the civic body, and prepare a PC-I of the project of saving Rawal Dam from pollution.
