Islamabad - Islamabad police have arrested 15 suspects during a search operation in various areas of the city, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.
IGP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan has directed all SDPOs and SHOs to enhance patrolling as well as checking in various areas of the city and conduct search operation at slums, Afghan habitats, under-construction buildings, workshops, bus stands and inns. Station House Officer of Tarnol and Koral police stations along with police team conducted search operations in the areas of Saraey Khurbuza, Dhoke Abbasi, Dhoke Lal, under-construction buildings and plazas. They succeeded in nabbing 15 suspects who are being investigated further. The purpose of this search operation and high vigilance was to ensure foolproof security in the city.
Furthermore, Islamabad police have arrested 16 outlaws including three street criminals from various areas of the city and recovered 3.5 kilograms hashish, weapons, mobile phones, cash and looted items from their possession. According to details, Secretariat police arrested two drug pushers Abdul Hameed and Muhammad Hafeez and recovered 2.7 kilograms hashish from their possession. Bhara Kahu police arrested Sardar Khan and recovered 520 grams hashish from him. Sabzi Mandi police arrested 3 street criminals Nasir Khan, Ehsan and Gul Muhammad and recovered two snatched mobile phones and cash from their possession. Shehzad Town police arrested two encroachers Amir Shehzad and Muhammad Jameel. Koral police arrested two accused Saeed and Tahir and recovered one 30-bore illicit pistol along with ammunition, one dagger and two punches from their possession. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is under way.
