ANF seize 500kg narcotics during operations

rawalpindi - The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) carried out operations against drug mafia in various parts of the country and seized 500kg drugs, informed ANF Headquarters (HQs) spokesman Sami Ullah Khan on yesterday. The force also held 11 suspects and impounded 5 vehicles that were used for trafficking drugs, he added. The drugs recovered by ANF from smugglers in 7 operations included 495kg Charas and 5kg heroin. The worth of the seized drugs was Rs1.2 billion in international market, he informed.
According to him, ANF Rawalpindi arrested a drug trafficker Tariq Gul, resident of Nowshera near Kachehri Chowk and recovered 8kg Charas from his personal possession.
Similarly, ANF Lahore intercepted a car near PSO petrol pump at Old Shujjabad Road, Multan and recovered 33.6kg Charas from the secret cavities of the vehicle during search of the car. Three persons on board namely Muhammad Yaseen, Muhammad Ramzan and Muhammad Saleem were held, he said, adding that ANF Lahore also captured a car near main Sheikhupura Interchange, Sheikhupura and recovered 5kg heroin and 2.4kg Charas concealed in it. Two individuals namely Ghulam Rasool and Muhammad Yaqoob were also arrested. 
In Peshawar, he said, ANF led an intelligence led operations and seized a truck near New Toll Plaza, Indus Highway, Kohat, recovering 275kg Charas concealed inside the body of the truck. An occupant of the vehicle named Dilawar Khan, resident of Peshawar was also arrested at the spot. In yet another operation, ANF recovered 4.8kg Charas from a rickshaw at Shahi Bagh.
ANF Karachi stopped a suspected truck near Piyala Hotel, Rohri Bypass, Rohri and recovered 170kg Charas during search of the vehicle. The truck was loaded with flour and drug was stuffed in flour bags. Two persons on board named Muhammad Aslam and Muhammad Yousaf were also arrested at the spot, he said. He added that ANF also held a local drug peddler namely Muhammad Rafi in a raid carried out in the area of Bengali Para, Korangi, Karachi along with recovery of 1.1kg Charas, which was found in his personal possession.
All cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stations and further investigation was underway, Sami informed.
