Rawalpindi - The Anti-Narcotics Force recovered 168-kg narcotics in 9 operations and arrested 8 persons, including two women, for their alleged involvement in drug trafficking, informed ANF spokesman here on Monday.
According to him, the ANF in 9 operations across the country thwarted several attempts to smuggle drugs and seized 6.5-kg heroin, 160-kg hashish and 2-kg methamphetamine (ice). During the operations, the ANF also arrested 8 persons including 2 lady drug traffickers and impounded 1 vehicle. The worth of recovered drugs is approximately Rs. 443 million in international market.
He added that ANF Rawalpindi arrested 2 drug traffickers namely Touqeer Ahmed and Asif Iqbal, both residents of Rawalpindi, and recovered 2-kg heroin from their personal possession. Separately, ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Netherlands-destined parcel containing thread cones and buttons at DHL courier office, Islamabad, and recovered 500 grams heroin concealed inside the packing.
The said parcel was booked by one Ali Imran, resident of Islamabad, and was intended to be received at Waxwell Tempting Klaver Street, Rotterdam, Netherlands.
