Senate body for raising Nato transit fare

ISLAMABAD - The Senate Standing Committee on Ports and Shipping on Tuesday directed Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to review fare of the Nato transit-containers destined for Afghanistan.
Under the chairpersonship of Senator Gulshan Saeed, the body directed the government to enhance Nato containers’ fare. The Port Qasim Authority chairman said that the supplies to international forces were suspended with effect from November 26 last year, after the government ordered. He added that due to the suspension of transit supplies of Nato stationed in Afghanistan, the cargo had started piling up at the ports.
Ports and Shipping Minister Babar Ghouri, Senators Almas Parveen, Mir Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Ismail Buledi and Tariq Azim attended the meeting.
