Babar Awan files plea seeking unconditional apology to SC

Disregarded senior PPP leader Babar Awan on Monday filed a plea in Supreme Court of Pakistan, seeking unconditional apology to the apex court over his derogatory remarks.
“I express regret over my comments I passed during a media talk and unconditionally apologies for uttering the remarks which led to cancellation of my license for the law practice,” said Awan’s petition filed in the court on behalf of Raja Abdul Ghafoor Advocate-on-Record.
“I don’t want any defense lawyer in my case, my apology be accepted,” the former law minister stated in his plea.
He also begged the court not to frame contempt charges against him as it has already revoked the license for his media jibe.
Awan had uttered derogatory remarks against judges after the SC ordered for an investigation by Tariq Khosa into the memo scandal.
On April 10, Awan had tendered an apology to the court, especially to Justice Asif Saeed Khosa against whom he had launched a tirade by openly attacking him for being brother of Tariq Saeed Khosa.  However, the SC bench has yet to decide if it is admitting Awan’s plea for apology.
