Bahrain commander meets PM Nawaz

ISLAMABAD - Commander National Guard of Bahrain Lt. Gen. Sheikh Mohamed Bin Isa Bin Al-Khalifa called on Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif at the PM House here this afternoon. Welcoming him to Pakistan, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan attaches importance to its relations with Bahrain and wishes to enhance cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, particularly trade, investment, energy, defense and manpower.
Talking about regional situation, the Prime Minister said, "having peaceful and cooperative relations with neighbouring countries is part of his vision and we are committed to following a policy of non-interference and non-involvement in the internal affairs of other countries." The Prime Minister emphasised that Pakistani community considered Bahrain as its second home and is playing the role of a bridge between the two peoples in addition to significantly contributing towards the socio-economic development of both the countries.
Expressing his views on Yemen situation the Prime Minister said Pakistan condemns the overthrow of legitimate government of President Hadi by Houthis and called for finding a peaceful resolution of the crisis through dialogue.
Sheikh Mohamed Bin Isa Bin Al-Khalifa conveyed the greetings of the King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to the Prime Minister. He appreciated that Pakistan has always been a sincere friend of Bahrain.
The Prime Minister recalled his visit to Bahrain and meeting with the King in January this year. He also expressed his gratitude for Bahraini King Hamad's offer to establish a medical college in Pakistan.
