PESHAWAR Ahli Sunnah-Wal- Jammat has announced to hold a training convention from 11 April 2010 to April 22, 2010 to train their activists to face future challenges. Addressing a press conference here at Peshawar press club on Wednesday, provincial spokesman of Ahli Sunnah-Wal-Jammat Eid Nazar Mengal, Maulana Ismail Darwesh and Mohammad Ibrahim Kazmi said that in wake of the ongoing deteriorated situation, the security agencies should keep close contact with masses and establish good working relationship with activists of Ahli Sunnah-Wal-Jammat. They said that the country was facing numerous challenges and the challenges would be met only if the security agencies of the country had a close liaison with each section of the society. They also suggested the government to avoid dependency on foreign aid and keep close watch on foreign intervention in the countrys political affairs. They also stressed the government to stop extra-judicial killings in swat and other parts of the country and bring all the suspected militants before the court. They also urged that Pakistani government should stop US from growing drone attacks against the innocent people. They said that government was completely failed to control the prices of daily commodities, which had multiplied the problems of the common people. They said that besides increasing inflation, government should also focus on the problems of loadshedding. They said Ahli Sunnah-Wal-Jammat is one of the patriotic organisations of the country, which never allowed its activists to interfere in the countrys sensitive affairs. They said that they were imparting training to their activists to make them patriotic people. Training workshop A three-day training workshop on 'Emergency and response at times of disasters concluded at Centre for Disaster Preparedness and Management, University of Peshawar. A press release issued here on Wednesday said that the workshop was organised by the Centre in collaboration with GTZ, a German donor agency, while 'Rescue 1122 provided technical support and consultancy. Certificates were distributed among 20 trainees after the successful completion of the course. Vice-Chancellor of University of Peshawar (UoP) Prof. Dr Azmat Hayat Khan awarded certificates in the concluding ceremony. On the occasion, addressing the participants, he said helping people at the times of disasters and distress is worship while fighting and management of disasters is responsibility of every countryman. 'This course is a good tool to give you hands on experience and build your capacity, now and its your responsibility to reach out to the masses for spreading the word around so that maximum damages could be made possible to control at the times of disasters, he maintained.
