ISLAMABAD - Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Wednesday for the second time in current session staged a walkout from the proceeding against killings of its party workers in Karachi.
MQM lawmaker Iqbal Muhammad Ali on a point of order demanded of the government to constitute a committee over the Karachi issue. "Where should we register our protest? Is it justice with MQM members?" MQM lawmaker posed volley of questions from incumbent government before staging a walkout.
Responding to concerns raised by MQM, Riaz Pirzada, minister for inter-provincial coordination, said the speaker National Assembly had written a letter to the interior minister over reservations of MQM. He added that law and order was provincial matter and MQM was part of the Sindh government.
The MQM lawmakers have been raising their voice against the Karachi operation and alleged killing of their party workers in and outside the parliament.
