PTI demands up to Rs18 per litre cut in oil prices

Islamabad - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) yesterday demanded of the government to withdraw recent increase in petroleum prices immediately.
The PTI made this demand during a protest demonstration held in front of National Press Club that was led by PTI MNA from Islamabad Asad Umer.
The government from the first day of this month had made a slight increase while the international oil prices have been decreasing continuously for the last many months.
Addressing the participants, Asad Umer said that increase in prices was unreasonable and a clear example of the failure of the economic policies of the government.
“International oil prices are falling down continuously; there is no logic in the decision of government,” he said. He alleged that the government is not passing on the actual benefit to the masses as it only decreases prices up to four percent while these decreased up to 25 percent internationally. He said the government’s decision to levy indirect taxes on diesel is also irrational. There is a need to decrease oil prices up to Rs 18 per litre, he demanded.
Meanwhile, PTI through a notification dissolved its Balochistan Organizing Committee and appointed former Federal Minister Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind as the new provincial organiser of the party. He will appoint new organising committee, says the notification issued by Central Organizer PTI Jehangir Khan Tareen.
Moreover, Chairman PTI Imran Khan in consultation with the party’s National Organiser Shah Mahmood Qureshi yesterday removed party district organisers of Dera Ghazi Khan, Rahim Yar Khan and NA-56 Rawalpindi for violation of party discipline in the distribution of tickets in local government elections. These include Ahmed Ali Dreshik, Rana Raheel and Faizul Hasan Chohan respectively.
