Islamabad - An elderly man affected of dengue virus died during treatment at a hospital here yesterday.
Hospital sources said that the patient identified as Allah Ditta, 65, a resident of district Mansehra, had been under treatment at the Holy Family Hospital Rawalpindi for last few days where he breathed his last on Wednesday.
The Rawalpindi health department has deducted five days salary of 14 lady health workers (LHWs) for not performing duty on Sundays, causing resentment among the nurses.
The LHWs had been deputed in Rahimabad on behalf of Cantt Hospital. They said that their salary of five days amounting to Rs 4,800 each has been deducted and now they have been issued show cause notices.
The nurses said that if their deducted salary was not returned and show cause notices were not withdrawn, they will be forced to resign from their jobs.
