No HEC scholarships for Baloch students since 2006

ISLAMABAD(Online)-  Higher Education Commission (HEC) has been failed to award the scholarships for Ph D to the students of Balochistan in last three years. It is noted that only 8 Ph D scholarships were awarded to the students of Balochistan till now. According to details, Federal government, provincial and DHA has allotted 2837 Acres land worth of billions of rupees to HEC with free of cost. The HEC was allotted 130 acres land in DHA phase-7, 400 acres in Mureed Kay, 215 acres in Islamabad, 450 near National Highway Karachi, 450 and 137 acres in National Highway Karachi, 605 Acres in Simbrial Sialkot, 450 in National Highway Karachi for the construction of 7 National Universities while the decision regarding allocation of land for two more universities was not taken. It was informed during the Question Hour in National Assembly that the students of Balochistan were being neglected of getting Ph D scholarships from HEC and in this regard no scholarship was awarded to any student of Balochistan since 2006.
