Four held with 240-kg dead animal meat

Rawalpindi - Police have recovered 240-kg meat of dead animals and arrested four suppliers on Hassanabdal Road, sources informed The Nation here on Sunday.
According to sources, a team of police station Hassanabdal was on routine checking when they spotted a suspicious van (LEA-2274) and stopped it. During course of search, the police party recovered meat of dead animals weighing 240-kg and nabbed four suppliers on the spot.
Those who were arrested by police were identified as Muhammad Saeed, Mola Baksh, Muhammad Naheem (all residents of Khushab) and Nadir Khan of Chakwal. A case was registered against them while the rotten meat was discarded, sources added.
The sources further informed that the meat of dead animal was brought from Khushab and to be supplied to two butchers namely Arshad and his brother Ismail, residents of Mohalla Punjabian area of Hassanabdal.
