RAWALPINDI - The tussle with lawyers cost Cantonment Executive Officer (CEO) Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) Rana Manzoor Ahmed his job as he was removed from office on Friday.Station Commander Cantonment Board Brig Nassaurullah Khan Niazi placed CEO Rana Manzoor Ahmed under suspension; ordered an inquiry against him and also appointed Assistant Executive Officer Shakeel Anwar Jhappas as Acting CEO RCB. On the other hand, the lawyers’ anger reached the boiling point as they, during a session held by Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) and District Bar Association (DBA) and announced complete strike today. They also given 24-hour deadline to Regional Police Officer (RPO) Capt (retd) Muhammad Zubair and City Police Officer (CPO) Azhar Hameed Khokher to arrest the culprits, who tortured on two lawyers, or else face the music.Meanwhile, the lawyers did not appear before the courts to contest cases even on Friday. The litigants also faced troubles as they had to return to their homes with dates set by judges owing to strike of lawyers.Similarly, RCB and CCB workers and officers also left dealing the complainants to register their protest against lodging FIR against their CEO Rana Manzoor Ahmed, causing immense troubles for citizens whom works were pending with RCB and CCB. LHCBA President Taufeeq Asif, while talking to media men after holding a meeting at DBA, denounced the incident and demanded of the police to arrest Rana Manzoor and his men immediately. He said that the tension between the lawyers and RCB officials has entered in a critical phase. He said that Station Headquarter informed the bars in written that Rana Manzoor was barred from performing his duty as CEO. However, he said that the lawyers would not believe in until the arrest of Rana Manzoor by police. The other prominent in the meeting were DBA President Malik Israr-ul-Haq advocate, Faisal Khan Niazi advocate, Sardar Asmat Ullah Khan Advocate, Shafqat Ali Bhatti Advocate and many other senior and junior lawyers.
