JCP recommends names for SHC judges

ISLAMABAD  - Judicial Commission of Pakistan Thursday recommended the name of Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan for the chief justice of Federal Shariat Court.
The JCP meeting was held in the chair of Chief Justice of Pakistan, four senior judges of the Supreme Court, Law Minister, representative of Pakistan Bar Council and the Attorney General for Pakistan.
The sources said that the Commission also recommended four out of 10 names for the appointment of additional judges in Sindh High Court, while rejected Muhammad Hassan name for the SHC.

The names deferred included incumbent Prosecutor National Accountability Bureau K K Agha and registrar Special Court, Ghulam Qadir Leghari, Syed Saghir Hussain Zaidi and Rashid Ahmed Soomro.
The names approved for appointment in the Sindh High Court as additional judges included Ahmed Raza Naqvi, Saeed-ud-Din Nasir, Muhammad Iqbal Kalhor and Shahab Sar.
The recommendation of the JCP would be sent to Parliamentary Committee for Judge Appointment for approval. After its approval the President of Pakistan would notify their names.
The sources said that after the notification chief justice FSC would take oath on 5th June as the incumbent chief justice of the Federal Shariat Court is going to retire on June 4 on attaining the age of superannuation.
