PM pledges prosperous Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif urged the nation to pledge for developing Pakistan as a welfare state purging it of all evil like sectarianism, extremism, terrorism and egoism.
In his message on Iqbal Day, the prime minister paid tribute to the great poet. He said Iqbal had given a ray of hope to the Muslims of the sub-continent by floating the idea of creation of Pakistan and also reminded the Muslims of their glorious past through his writings. Iqbal also promoted self-respect and self-recognition among the Muslims. The prime minister said that Allama Iqbal also persuaded the Muslims of the sub-continent to fight for independence that helped them achieve a separate homeland.–APP
