FUMC organises annual day

Rawalpindi - Foundation University Medical College (FUMC) organised its annual day yesterday.
Rector Foundation University Islamabad, Maj Gen (Retd) Khadim Hussain HI(M) was the chief guest while Maj Gen (Retd) Dr Nasim-ul-Majeed HI(M), Director Foundation University Islamabad, was also present on the occasion.
The chief guest distributed gold medals, silver medals, distinction certificates and merit certificates among the students of MBBS on their respective academic achievements. The rector also distributed cash prizes among the winners of various co-curricular activities.
While addressing the audience, Maj Gen (Retd) Khadim Hussain HI(M) said that the Foundation University Medical College has covered several milestones of development and today it stands out as a distinguished institution among medical colleges of the country. “The well-designed purpose built campus of the college is located in proximity of a large teaching hospital and provides a student-friendly atmosphere highly conducive for learning,” he emphasised.
He said the teaching hospital of the Foundation University Medical College is one of the best hospitals in the twin cities, which provides excellent opportunities of clinical training to the students.
He informed the audience that a state-of-the-art college of dentistry has been added to Foundation University Islamabad campus and it is expected that class of bachelors in dental surgery will commence from the next academic session. He said, “The Foundation University Islamabad has always encouraged co-curricular activities alongside the exhausting academic schedules.”
While felicitating the students who achieved academic excellence in various university examinations, he said this performance is reflective of their hard work and devotion to their studies, for which they genuinely deserve appreciation. He also admired the role of faculty in scholastic growth of students.
Earlier, Maj Gen (Retd) Dr Nasim-ul-Majeed HI(M), Director Foundation University Islamabad, welcomed the guests, faculty and students.
