Rawalpindi - Young Doctors Association (YDA) at Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) Thursday staged a protest demonstration against the government and local administration for not providing basic facilities to doctors and patients in the hospital.
The YDA demanded earlier provision of all the missing facilities in BBH. According to details, a large number of male and female doctors on the call of YDA gathered outside BBH and staged a protest demonstration while blocking Benazir Bhutto Road for traffic. They chanted slogans against Punjab government and local administration.
YDA head Dr Umer, while addressing the protestors, demanded of the Punjab government and local administration to resolve issues of insecurity, non-availability of specialists, delayed installation of CT scan machine, seven dysfunctional ventilators in ICU, and out of order dialysis, MRI and digital X-rays units, besides increasing bed strength of hospital to 1200 and decreasing long duty hours of doctors due to limited seats of doctors in BBH.
He said that YDA would broaden protest if MS BBH and local administration failed to resolve genuine issues.
