Opp set to raise hot issues in joint sitting

ISLAMABAD - The opposition parties have found another opportunity to give tough time to the government to raise ‘Panama leaks’ issue in the joint sitting of parliament, which is summoned tomorrow for legislation on controversial bills including PIA privatization.
The controversial bills issue will also be dominated by the ‘Panama leaks’ and controversial departure of Pervaiz Musharraf abroad.
The joint sitting, after a gap of three weeks, is once again called to deliberate five bills might give maximum time to ‘Panama papers’ and departure of former President Musharrf, background discussion with opposition members left this impression.
Opposition parties have already submitted an adjournment motion in parliament against Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan for allegedly ‘misrepresenting’ on the floor regarding departure of Pervaiz Musharraf.
As Chaudhary Nisar had said that the former president had been allowed by Supreme Court (SC) to leave the country and it was not a decision exclusively of the government.
This motion is signed by Opposition leader Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah and Leader of Opposition in Senate Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan along with 40 other members of opposition parties of both Houses of Parliament.
Likewise, the opposition parties will also raise the issue of Panama leaks in the house. The opposition has already rejected the government proposal to form judicial commission under retired judge.
The opposition parties will unanimously raise the matter that judicial commission should be formed under a serving judge. PTI has also threatened to stage a sit-in in Lahore if a retired judge is appointed to head the judicial commission.
