CPO vows strict action against suppliers

Rawalpindi - A delegation of All Pakistan Private Schools Managements Association (APPSMA) called on city police officer (CPO) on Tuesday and drew his attention towards the trend of increasing use of narcotics in schools and colleges.
The matters of law and order in the city and security of schools/colleges also came under discussion between top police boss and the delegation. On the occasion, Chief Traffic Officer Shoaib Khurram Janbaz was also present. APPSMA Divisional President Abrar Ahmed Khan led the delegation which comprised Amjad Arbab Abbasi, Shaukat Mehmood, Ijaz Mehmood, Sana Ullah, Muhammad Saleem, Muhammad Yousaf, Muhammad Nauman and Zulfiqar Ali.
The CPO expressed his deep concern over supply and use of narcotics in schools and colleges saying no body would be allowed to play havoc with the future of Pakistan. “A massive crackdown will be launched against the drug mafia to save the lives of young students,” he said. Abbasi assured the delegation that the use and supply of narcotics would not be tolerated in educational institutions at any cost and strict action would also be taken against those found in supplying drugs to the schools and colleges.
The matter of security of schools and law and order in the city were also discussed in detail. The delegation also lauded the efforts of CPO for maintaining law and order in the city. The CPO asked the management of private schools to install walkthrough gates and CCTV cameras to monitor the activities of suspicious elements around schools.
He said that all the visitors should be frisked with metal detectors properly and the school management should also inform nearby police stations if movement of any anti-social elements around schools is noted.
Abbasi was of view that district coordination committees would be constituted to bring peace in the city and the office-bearers of APPSMA would also be made members of the committees.
