GB can’t become a province unless Kashmir resolved: AJK president

ISLAMABAD - AJK President Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob has said Gilgit-Baltistan cannot become a province of Pakistan till the resolution of the Kashmir issue.
He said this while talking to media persons here Saturday. He asserted an amendment to the Constitution was a must to change the map of the country and make Gilgit-Baltistan a province.
He went on to say no such change had so far been made and would not be made because it would affect the Kashmir cause. “India is perpetrating atrocities in fact on itself rather than the people of Kashmir. Homegrown separatist movements are emerging inside India,” he added. “Overseas Kashmiris are our ambassadors in the world and are playing a pivotal role in highlighting the Kashmir issue,” he said.
To a question about the economic corridor, he said Kashmir would be given what was given to Gilgit-Baltistan from it (the economic corridor) as GB was part of Kashmir.
