ISLAMABAD – The puppeteers of National Puppet Theatre (NPT) will educate the children from various educational institutions of the twin cities here today (September 10) with entertainment and information.
The show arranged by Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), Ministry of National Heritage and Integration would showcase the performance of puppets on environment education and social issues highlighting different characters in form of stories to address topics like environment, health and education problems.
The colourful puppets and their animated expressions will show a concern over pollution and maintaining cleanliness in the surroundings to educate children for protecting the environment of their planet earth.
The show will also bring folk tales, skits, national songs and regional dances to provide informative entertainment for children who will attend the event along with their parents.
This show is a regular feature of PNCA’s activities for promotion of culture and traditions among the children who get entertained with movement of puppets in vibrant costumes and characters, an official of PNCA told this agency.
Popular folk tales, skits and national songs are the major attraction for children capturing the expression of puppets in colourful apparels and traditional jewellery to introduce the children with rich cultural glimpses of Pakistan.
The puppeteers demonstrate their skills of moving puppets guiding the students about various issues in form of stories, songs, dances and tableau.
Puppet shows are popular as ‘Children Theatre’ that provide entertainment with variety of puppets made of a wide range of materials, depending on their form and intended use (evil or good performance) to leave a deep impact on children’s mind with cartoon like expressions, the official said.
