ISLAMABAD - Islamabad district administration finalised preparations on Sunday to turn the federal capital into a fortress.
“Preparations have been finalised to keep the marchers at bay from Islamabad. We can block entry to Islamabad within moments soon after getting signal from the government,” a senior official of Islamabad district administration told The Nation.
The concerned authorities have virtually sealed Red Zone, which is home to sensitive buildings and Diplomatic Enclave.
Meanwhile, police on Sunday raided an oil factory situated in I-10/3 area and arrested 15 people armed with sophisticated weapons.
Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies provided foolproof security to thousands of participants of a demonstration organised by Jamaat-e-Islami on Sunday. Heavy contingents of police were deployed across Islamabad to provide security to the participants of the rally.
