ISLAMABAD: Aiming at restoring the status of Islamabad as lush green city, incumbent Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Maroof Afzal, will formally inaugurate "Clean and Green Islamabad" Campaign tomorrow.The campaign, media was told on Monday, aims to restore beauty of the federal capital. Beautification, renovation and infrastructure up gradation are the chief components of campaign. According to concerned officials, the Chairman CDA will meet the residents and traders of Sector I-10 also to listen to their complaints and suggestions to make the city clean and green. The Chairman CDA will formally inaugurate "Clean and Green Islamabad" Campaign in Sector I-10. In this regard, a high level meeting presided over by the Member Environment and Engineering, Sanaullah Aman was held here at CDA Headquarters. The campaign will conclude on February 25 and will initially focus on six sectors including I-10, I-9, G-10, G-9 F-7 and F-6. Relevant formations of CDA will jointly operate to make this campaign an accomplishment. This drive will incorporate cleanliness of streets, roads, parks play areas and markets as well as repair and maintenance of water filtration plants, streetlights, footpaths, main-holes and green areas. Streamlining the water supply and sewerage systems and other civic amenities will also be part of the campaign. The residents, traders, civil society and students will also be invited to be part of the campaign.Awareness of the citizens will also be an integral part of this drive. The process for beautification of parks, kids play area and green belts are already in full swing while the trimming of wild bushes and shrubs and grass also is in progress.
