Discos directed to resolve complaints

ISLAMABAD - Water and Power Secretary Nargis Sethi on Thursday directed all the DISCOS to reinforce their line staff and start working on transmission system improvement, so that the complaints regarding outages, tripping and low voltages could be sorted out.
The Ministry of Water and Power has also appealed to the consumers to reduce their electricity usage as the rising temperature and incapacity of transmission system are the main reasons of tripping, low voltage and unscheduled outages. It further appealed to the consumers using air conditioners to rationalise their usage, so that extra pressure on distribution system is relieved and loadshedding remains manageable throughout the country.
According to officials, the distribution companies have already started revamping of their distribution system keeping in view that in near future they will be receiving more energy from the national grid. Similarly, the National Dispatch and Distribution Company also expedited its work on 220KV grid stations to reinforce the transmission system.
